Unitree releases frequent updates almost every month. This time we present to you the smoothest walking and humanoid running in the world. We hope you like it.)

This is just beautiful.

There’s a lot to like about the Grain Weevil as an efficient single-task robot, but what I really appreciate here is that the control system is just a remote control and a camera stuck to the top of the bin.

This video “A robot arm picks your groceries like a real person” taught me that I’m not a real person.

A robot walking like a human walking like what people think a robot walking like a robot.

And that was my favorite line of the week.

Robots are tools for us to make life easier. But they should also look friendly, right? That’s why we added motorized antennae to Reacha so he could show simple emotions – without a full personality. Plus, it goes well with those bold eyes O_o!

So the thing I’ve learned about sailing boats (thanks, Jack Aubrey!) is that sailing downwind can be tricky. It turns out that having a boat with two fronts and no backs makes this a lot easier.

I am Kento Kawaharazuka from the JSK Robotics Laboratory at the University of Tokyo. I’m writing to present our human-mimetic binaural hearing system on the musculoskeletal humanoid Musashi. The robot can perform 3D localization of the sound source using the human-like external ear structure and the FPGA-based auditory system embedded in it.

Thanks Kento!

The third CYBATHLON took place in Zurich on 25-27 October 2024. CYBATHLON is a competition for people with disabilities who use new robotic technologies to perform activities of daily living. It was invented and initiated by Professor Robert Riener at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. It competed in eight disciplines including prosthetic arms and legs, exoskeletons, electric wheelchairs, brain computer interfaces, robotic assistance, vision assistance and functional electric stimulation bikes.

Thanks Robert!

If you’re going to work on robotic dogs, I’m honestly not sure if Purina would be the most or least appropriate place to do it.
